Partnering with us is more than just fundraising – it’s about making a lasting difference to local families while bringing real benefits to your business and your team.
Show your commitment to making a positive impact in the community where your staff and customers live.
Shared fundraising goals and volunteering opportunities bring teams together, creating pride and purpose beyond the workplace.
Fundraising and volunteering activities offer opportunities to build confidence, leadership, and teamwork in new and rewarding ways.
Demonstrate your values, improve brand recognition, and strengthen your Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
Recent research shows that almost a quarter of UK consumers actively prefer brands that support charities, and over 40% say they are more likely to shop with businesses that demonstrate social impact. In fact, nearly half of UK consumers say they would feel more positive about a company if it offered opportunities to give back, such as charitable donations at checkout.
Whether you want to hold a fundraising challenge, make us your Charity of the Year, or encourage payroll giving, we’ll work with you to create a partnership that inspires your team and makes a real difference to families in need. It’s not just about fundraising – as a small team, we greatly value the skills, expertise, and guidance that larger organisations can bring to help develop, shape, and advise our staff, supporting us to maximise our impact despite limited capacity.
Over the past two years, we’ve developed a strong and meaningful partnership with T&B Contractors. They’ve taken on challenge events, run office raffles, joined us at our summer event, and even helped us wrap presents in the Atria at Christmas raising much-needed funds with warmth and good humour.
They’ve also gone further, sharing their professional expertise to help us shape our approach to working with construction partners, and donating staff time through their CSR volunteering days to help us build and furnish a new office space.
T&B Contractors support Home-Start because they believe in going beyond business – helping local families, building community connections, and making a tangible difference where it matters most.
Over the past five years, Berkeley Homes has supported us through funding, volunteering, and community action, from dressing as elves at Christmas to tackling Tough Mudder and helping a vulnerable family clear and make their homes safer together.
Their team shows up with warmth and humility, quickly becoming part of our wider Home-Start family. So much so, that families now recognise and welcome them at events.
Berkeley Homes choose to support Home-Start because they are committed to creating places where families feel supported, connected and at home.
We train volunteers with parenting experience to offer practical/emotional help and friendship to families for a 2-3 hours each week. Over 6 months, they build in-depth relationships and help prevent family crisis.
A warm and welcoming space for families to grow together, giving support and friendship for parents and safe and varied play experiences for their young children.
Accessible, low-cost counselling for parents and carers with the unique offer of free childcare alongside it, removing the barriers to improved mental health.
Dependent on level of funding, reporting can be shared with you, including case studies and impact of service reporting.
Take on an exciting endurance-based event with your team! Challenge yourself, create memories, and make a difference as you fundraise to help us support families in your local community.
To help you make the most of the opportunity, we’ll:
Our challenge event programme in 2024 includes skydiving, Tough Mudder, The Big Half Marathon, and Thames Moonlight 10 Walk. We welcome your own challenge event ideas too – you select the challenge, we’ll do the admin and support for you.
Through Easy Fundraising, over 7k online retailers donate a portion of your purchase to our charity at no extra cost to you. If you could get even a quarter of your team to sign up, the impact from their online shopping could be huge.
When you sign up to support us via the Watford Community Lottery and Hertsmere Lottery where a portion of all fees comes directly to us and funds our services for local families.
Could your team help make our events extra special? From Easter eggs at Easter and gifts at Christmas, to funding face painting or craft activities at family celebrations, your support brings joy and memorable experiences to the families we work with.
We have worked with corporate organisations to support them with volunteering opportunities and advise them as they implement their volunteering programmes. These have included VWV, Mothercare Group and Berkeley Homes.
Has your team got specialist skills that a small charity could benefit from? Like all small charities, one person often cover lots of roles. If you have a background in areas such as finance, fundraising or marketing, we would find your support invaluable.
Represent Home-Start at a challenge event and enjoy the high spirits and success of our fundraisers, being there to congratulate them at the finish line as an ambassador for the charity. Join our staff and volunteers helping at a family event, run a craft activity or help out in our sensory room. Could you offer us a child-friendly skill such as face painting or juggling?
If you are a parent or carer, we need people with your experience to offer friendship and practical/emotional help to local families for 2-3 hours per week. Even helping us to promote our home-visiting volunteering with your colleagues and their families and network helps us to spread the word and get more vital volunteers for the service.

Our corporate support makes a huge difference to what Home-Start can achieve, but it is also a two-way relationship!
