Our charity helps local families with at least one child under 5 years deal with the challenges they face. We intervene early, supporting parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence, and build better lives for their children. We are a highly respected organisation and truly embedded in our local community. Volunteer Counsellor

This role is suitable for a Trainee Counsellor, an opportunity will provide you with the chance to work directly with clients, further your counselling skills, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and professional setting.

Availability on Tuesdays only between 11:30am till 2:30pm location; Borehamwood Membership: You should be a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and have your own professional liability insurance.

Treasurer

We’re expanding our Board of Trustees and looking for an experienced Treasurer to take over from our existing Treasurer who will be standing down at the end of 2024. The successful candidate will shadow our existing Treasurer and receive a thorough handover as well as training opportunities.

Our charity helps local families with at least one child under 5 years deal with the challenges they face. We intervene early, supporting parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence, and build better lives for their children. We are a highly respected organisation and truly embedded in our local community.

The Treasurer plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organisation and works closely with the CEO, finance officer, Chair of Trustees and the other trustees.

Role: The Treasurer plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organisation and works closely with the CEO, finance officer, Chair of Trustees and the other trustees.

Volunteer: Trustees are volunteers. The role is not accompanied by any payment, however reasonable expenses may be claimed e.g. local travel.

Time: Estimated [2] days per month, including attending bi-monthly board meetings. You may also be a sub-committee member and attend specific meetings.

Location: Watford, and remotely

We expect all team members to share our values. All Home-Start trustees are active in advocating, fundraising and networking.

Our work prioritises disadvantaged parents and young families. Ultimately you will be contributing to the positive change we seek to make to their lives so that they can thrive.
